A student of Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur area, who was seriously injured in a weapon attack in Dhemaji on Saturday, died at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH), where she was undergoing treatment after the incident. .

According to reports, Nandita along with her relative Kashmera Dutta and Kashmera's father Deba Dutta was attacked with a blade by a Rintu Sarma in Dhemaji transport. All the three injured were rushed to Dhemaji Civil Hospital. However, in view of Nandita's illness, she was sent to the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.

On Monday, Nandita's health deteriorated and she died in the medical clinic. Police have arrested the attacker Rintu Sharma.

According to the information received, the student of Shankardev College was returning from class with her partner when two teenagers who came in a vehicle met her. The teenager (who spat on the girl) asked her to sit in the car and when he refused to do so, rusted her body.

A few days before the incident, the relatives of the accused youth had gone to the girl's house with a marriage proposal, but the family turned it down.
